Tampa/St. Petersburg-Area Toyota Sales Climb in March

    MIAMI, April 12 Southeast Toyota Distributors, Inc.
reports that March's retail truck sales at Toyota's five Tampa/St. Petersburg-
area dealers climbed 35 percent over the year-ago month while car sales
advanced 12 percent.
    Tampa/St. Petersburg-area dealers include Clearwater Toyota, Autoway
Toyota, located in Pinellas Park; and Tampa's Courtesy Toyota, Precision
Toyota and Stadium Toyota.
    In the five-state region served by Southeast Toyota, an all-time March
sales record was established, with retail truck sales advancing 28 percent
over the year-ago month and retail car sales advancing 12 percent.
    Sales leaders for the month include four all-new Toyota offerings: the
full-size Indiana-built Tundra pickup, the affordable ECHO sedan, the
radically styled Celica sports car, and the Kentucky-built Avalon sedan.
    Ranked first among Toyota's American distributors in sales and customer
