ABRA Auto Body & Glass Holds Airbag and Windshield Safety Class in Atlanta
ATLANTA--April 11, 2000--ABRA Auto Body & Glass, a national damaged vehicle repair company with 67 locations in ten states, is holding a training session on airbag, windshield, and restraint system safety for insurance personnel as well as First Responders, Fire Rescue and State Patrol workers. With multiple airbag systems per vehicle, rescuers may be at risk if all the airbags do not deploy during an accident. In fact, several rescue workers around the country have been injured when airbags have deployed unexpectedly during extrications or rescue attempts. This class covers all types of airbag systems in vehicles today, what can be done to secure the scene at the crash, and what is coming in vehicles in the near future.
Another huge safety risk to motorists is the proper installation of replacement auto glass. A recent segment of ABC's 20/20, in which ABRA personnel were interviewed as industry experts, brought to light the dangers involved if a windshield is incorrectly installed. This training class discusses correct procedures, and how to determine if a windshield installer is appropriately trained and certified.
