NADA Affiliate Selects Chrome Data Corporation to Provide New Vehicle Information to Web Site
PORTLAND, Ore.--April 10, 2000--Publisher of Used Vehicle Values to Expand Online Service
to Include New Car Data
Chrome Data Corp., the only independent business-to-business provider of automotive data and software for selling cars online, today announced that the vehicle value Web site nadaguides.com, formed by the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), the N.A.D.A. Official Used Car Guide Company and N.A.D.A. Appraisal Guides, has adopted Chrome's Web-based data standard and configuration tool, Web Carbook.
Web Carbook enables nadaguides.com to offer consumers accurate new vehicle information in addition to the comprehensive used car data that NADA has provided for nearly 70 years with the NADA Used Car Guides and Appraisal Guides.
Launched in January 2000, nadaguides.com provides consumers with one-stop information and retail values for a wide range of new and used vehicles including: cars, boats, yachts, recreation vehicles, luxury motor homes, motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, personal watercraft and airplanes.
"Dealers have been using Chrome's desktop car data and specifications tool for years, and have come to accept it as the industry standard," said Jim Adkisson, president of Chrome Data. "It seems appropriate that the nation's dealer association should choose to follow suit with our Web-based product."
Chrome's Web Carbook allows individual dealerships and portals to provide Web site visitors with specifications on all new vehicle makes and models, standard and optional equipment, vehicle pictures and the most accurate manufacturer's invoice and MSRP pricing.
"Our site gives consumers the most market-reflective and respected used vehicle value information for everything that rolls, floats or flies," said Lenny Sims, general manager at nadaguides.com. "Web Carbook enables us to expand our service to consumers in the market for a new car by providing them with direct access to the most accurate, reliable, third-party new car values and specifications."
