Collins & Aikman Honored to Supply Convertible Roof System For Car of the Century

    TROY, Mich., April 7 The 1999 Chevrolet Corvette
Convertible was recently selected as the "Best Engineered Car of the 1990s"
and "Best Engineered Car of the 20th Century" by the Society of Automotive
Engineers (SAE).  Collins & Aikman Corporation's Dura Convertible
Systems division supplied the vehicle's convertible roof system.
    "It is a distinct honor to be the convertible system supplier for
Chevrolet's Corvette Convertible, the automobile that was selected both car of

    *  The Dura system maximizes performance at high speeds.
    *  The Dura system's center linkage mechanical lock provides increased
security for the passenger compartment.
