Tracks: Lebanon Valley Ready to Roar into the 21st Century

WEST LEBANON, NY-April 15, 2000 will mark the 48th Grand season opener at Lebanon Valley Speedway. Speedway owner Howard Commander and staff have been working hard since the last race of the 20th century making improvements to the West Lebanon speed plant. A fresh coat of paint has been applied to much of the facility and is continuing. Within the next few weeks the track crew will also be inspecting the grandstands and making any repairs needed. The grandstands will also receive a new coat of paint. The novelty booths have been restocked with newly designed items such as T-shirts, hats and drink bottles plus much, much more. The "World Famous" Lebanon Valley food concessions are all set to go. All your favorite food items, French fries, pizza, fried dough, hot dogs, grinders, popcorn and ice cream will once again be available at the same great prices. The racers are all ready to get the new season underway also. The racecars are all polished and the motors are ready to roar to life. Race time is 6:15pm with the modified heats at 7:00pm. Harry Millard is returning as the pit steward for 2000 and the handicapping has not changed for the 2000 season. All classes with the exception of the IMCA modifieds will be handicapped the same way. Opening night, heats and features will be handicapped based on the money won from the last three regular season point races of last season. Week two will be handicapped based on money won from opening night and so on. New drivers and rookies will start in the rear of heats and features for their first two weeks only. IMCA modifieds will follow their regular handicapping procedure. L & M Motors and Mane Attraction will sponsor the opening night action on April 15th. Adult general admission is still only $8.00 with reserved seating $9.00. Kids under 12 are just a buck with kids under 6 free. Seating in the glass enclosed, climate controlled V.I.P. tower is just $15.00. Come see the greatest racing in the northeast at the greatest track in the country every Saturday night.
