Federal-Mogul Appoints Kimberly A. Welch, Vice President, Electronic Business and Communications

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 6 Dick Snell, chairman and chief
executive officer, Federal-Mogul Corporation announces the
appointment of Kimberly A. Welch, 38, to the position of vice president,
electronic business and communications, effective immediately.  In this role,
Welch will have global responsibility for the company's electronic business
initiatives and corporate communications.
    "Kim has done a terrific job with our web activities and in this expanded
role will lead our global efforts to maximize the value of our Internet
initiatives," said Snell.
    Prior to this appointment, Welch held the position of vice president,
corporate communications, with global responsibility for all media and public
relations, employee communications and community relations.  She joined
Federal-Mogul in January 1996 as corporate communications manager.  Before
joining Federal-Mogul, Welch was an account executive managing automotive and
automotive supplier accounts for MVP Communications.  Earlier, Welch held
positions in communications management with General Motors Corporation.
    Welch earned a Master of Science degree in administration from Central
Michigan University and a Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts degree with a
double major in journalism and broadcast and cinematic arts.
    Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, Federal-Mogul is an automotive
