parts.com Hires AutoNation's Former E-commerce Field Operations Chief; Ted Rubin Appointed As Director Of Dealer Operations
SANFORD, Fla.--April 5, 2000--parts.com(TM), Inc. (Stock symbol: MIRM), a leading real-time business-to-business e-commerce parts exchange, today announced the appointment of Ted Rubin as its director of dealer operations.Rubin's integral knowledge of dealership operations, e-commerce and customer relations will provide both the expertise and implementation ability necessary to support parts.com's growing dealer/distributor network.
In this newly created position, Mr. Rubin will oversee the hiring and development of effective support staff for the company's expanding distributor base. In addition, Rubin will streamline operations in such a manner as to achieve and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, and will supervise the production of all parts.com operation manuals, installation, training and sales procedures.
Prior to joining parts.com, Rubin was director of e-commerce field operations for AutoNation, Inc. , the world's largest automotive dealer, whose outstanding e-commerce initiative has procured more than $1 billion dollars through Internet/e-commerce sales. Mr. Rubin's responsibilities included the day-to-day management of all e-commerce district managers and the development, implementation and installation of procedures and training protocol for e-commerce salespeople nationwide. Rubin also participated in the development of in-store e-commerce sales and customer relation processes, administered the AutoNationDirect.com licensee program, and assisted in the development of the back-end processes attached to the site.
Prior to working at AutoNation, Inc., Rubin was the director of business development for the Phil Smith Automotive Group, where he worked closely with Southeast Toyota to grow revenues and improve customer relations through customized process development for sales and service. He also managed customer retention and developed new revenue streams. Throughout his career, Rubin has gained experience working in almost each position within an automotive dealership.
