Ford Credit March Sales Highest in Company History
DEARBORN, Mich.--April 4, 2000--Ford Credit today announced that in March 2000 it financed 369,961 automotive contracts, the largest volume in Ford Credit's history and a 15-percent increase over the March 1999 total of 316,124. The contracts, for new and used purchased and leased automobiles, were financed by Ford Credit and its subsidiaries in the United States and Canada.During a month long drive dubbed, "MARCHing to Victory," Ford Motor Company, Ford Credit and dealers across the United States launched a team effort to improve overall company performance, while at the same time supporting Ford Motor's efforts to maintain a strong leadership in sales. "MARCHing to Victory" included a variety of new incentives for customers and dealers to finance Ford Credit contracts.
"MARCHing to Victory" was initiated by Ford Credit's new chairman and chief executive, Donald A. Winkler, as an element of the strategic efforts to emerge from Winkler's Breakthrough Leadership Process. The process brings cross-functional managers together to develop new programs that will spur growth and improve customer satisfaction.
