Jaguar Cars Reports Best March Ever and Record First Quarter
MAHWAH, N.J., April 4 Jaguar Cars announced record March
sales results. United States retails totaled 4,041 cars, up more than
141 percent compared with March 1999. This marks a record first quarter for
the company selling 10,262 cars, surpassing the record of 5,063 cars sold
first quarter of 1998.
Jaguar S-TYPE sedan retails in March were 2,347, while XJ Series sedan
sales totaled 1,038, and XK Series sports car sales totaled 656, up more than
37 percent compared with 478 cars sold in March 1999.
"Record March sales and a record first quarter illustrates that we are off
to a great start in 2000," said Mike Dale, president of Jaguar North America.
"We are looking forward to once again showcasing our 2000 model year product
lineup at the New York Auto Show in a couple of weeks."
Jaguar Canada sold 246 cars during the month, surpassing the same period
last year by nearly 273 percent.
