CINCINNATI--April 4, 2000--SDRC , a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced that Mahindra & Mahindra, Ltd.     The implementation of Metaphase will be within a shared enterprise among the Automotive Divisions and Farm Equipment Divisions in Mumbai, Nasik, Zaheerabad, and Nagpur. The requirements for deploying a product data management (PDM) solution included the need to enable a number of initiatives including digital mockup, effective engineering change management, effective document management, integrated management of product/part data, and linking CAD/CAM/CAE to ERP.
"Our biggest challenge in the year 2000 will be to elevate automotive and farm equipment product design and engineering to world class levels," said H.N. Subbarao vice president, Research and Development, Farm Equipment Sector and Dr. Pawan Goenka, vice president, Research and Development, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra. "Deploying a PDM solution is critical to achieving this goal. It will be one of the most important competitive weapons in Mahindra & Mahindra's technology armory, as we move toward a model of integrating more closely with our suppliers. We chose to extend our alliance with SDRC because of their proven technology and overall ability to deliver solutions that are synchronous to our integrated product development vision."
"We are pleased that Mahindra & Mahindra -- a very significant, well established manufacturer in India -- is expanding its alliance with SDRC," said Bill Weyand, chairman, president, and CEO, SDRC.
