ALLDATA Releases First Quarter 2000 Database With Over 130,000 Updated and New Electronic Pages of Diagnostic & Repair Information

ELK GROVE, Calif., April 4 ALLDATA, the world-wide market
leader in publishing computer-based diagnostic, repair and estimating
information, recalls, technical service bulletins and maintenance schedules
for automotive service providers added over 130,000 electronic pages,
including over 19,400 pages of wiring diagrams and 1,500 pages of technical
service bulletins, this quarter to the ALLDATA(R) Database. This release
marks the 47th consecutive quarterly release of information by ALLDATA.
Consistent, on-time information updates are a cornerstone in the confidence
repair shops have in the ALLDATA product.
"Today's automotive repair shops require more information and faster
access to it," said Brett Easley, President, Customer Satisfaction of ALLDATA.
"The quarterly updates we provide our customers help them repair more cars,
diagnose problems faster and run their shops efficiently and profitably. The
ALLDATA product has been and remains the one purchase shops make that
continues to grow in value over time."
In addition to the updated and new information, ALLDATA has added a new
product feature. The new Fax feature provides expedited access to ALLDATA's
Customer Resource Center and over 5,000 OE manuals. If a technician has a
unique repair inquiry and needs information faxed back, the new ALLDATA(R) Fax
button is a convenient and fast way to initiate the request.
"ALLDATA's Fax feature saves me time because I can fax a request for
information right from my PC," said Pat Ramel of Elk Grove Auto Clinic in Elk
Grove, Calif. "There's no need for me to write my request on a piece of paper
and then walk over to my fax machine and dial up ALLDATA. If I come across
information I need, I simply click on the Fax button, type in what I need and
I'm back on the job."
The new Fax feature automatically captures ALLDATA's unique "Where Am I"
information that helps guide the Library Research Specialist to the correct
answers for the customer.
