James Thomas Named Senior Public Relations And Customer Service Manager for Daewoo Motor AmericaCOMPTON, Calif., April 3 James Thomas has been named Senior Public Relations and Customer Service Manager for Daewoo Motor America, Inc. Thomas succeeds William Tucker who has resigned. Thomas joined Daewoo in 1999 in Franchise Operations. Before joining Daewoo, he was Vice President and CMO of trans2 and Global Electric motorcars and was instrumental in the development and introduction of Neighborhood Electric Vehicles into the US and world markets. Thomas began his automotive career with Pontiac Motor Division and has held a variety of management positions with Nissan, BMW and Volkswagen. Daewoo Motor America, Inc. is based in Compton, CA, and is the U.S. subsidiary of Daewoo Motor headquartered in Seoul, Korea. Daewoo Motor operates 18 manufacturing facilities in 14 countries and has sales operations in more than 180 countries. Joining the Daewoo Motor America line-up later this year will be the sporty Korando SUV.
