Subaru Announces March Sales Figures; Best March Total Sales Month Since 1989CHERRY HILL, N.J., April 3 Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) today announced its March sales figures. Subaru recorded a sales total of 14,276 units for the month, up 5 percent over March 1999 sales. Year-to-date totals of 40,677 units are up 18 percent over 1999 year-to-date totals (34,561 units). This marks the company's best March total sales month in 11 years. The Legacy model line led sales with 8,066 units posted -- a 15 percent increase over the same period last year. Outback sales were up 23 percent (5,600 units) versus 1999 March sales (4,565 units). Forester posted 4,635 units in March 2000, its fifth consecutive month of sales growth.
