Hyundai Sales Continue to Set Records; March Sales Up 84% Over Last Year

    FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., April 3 Hyundai Motor America
today announced sales of 22,001 vehicles for the month of March, up 84%
percent from one year ago.  "Hyundai's increasingly strong sales performance
indicates that the momentum generated by last year's record sales is
continuing," said Robert Cosmai, vice-president of sales for Hyundai Motor
America.
    "With sales of 10,103 units, the Elantra continues to be our volume
leader.  Sales were up 85% over the same month last year," Cosmai added.  "The
all-new Hyundai Accent, with March sales of 6,330 units, is also showing
excellent sales increases.  March sales for the Accent are up 83% over last
year," he said.
    "Our product line is nearly all-new and all our vehicles are backed with
The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty which includes our
10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty.  In addition, our dealers
are really focused on the franchise and their enthusiasm for the brand is
paying off," Cosmai added.
