    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 3 Lear Corporation
today announced the appointment of Robert A. Seed as Corporate Vice President
of Global Marketing and Sales, effective immediately.  Seed reports to Lear
President and Chief Operating Officer Robert Rossiter.

    In his new role, Seed is responsible for coordination of sales and
marketing initiatives both throughout Lear's global operations and between its
various customer focused divisions.  He is based at the company's Southfield,
Michigan (USA) headquarters.
    Seed joined Lear in March of 1998 and most recently was Vice President of
Sales in the company's Ford Division.  His 34 years of experience in the
automotive industry includes 10 years in purchasing at Ford Motor Company and
24 years in various sales management roles in stamping businesses.
    Seed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from
Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA).  He and his wife, Tina,
have three daughters and live in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
