SPX Corporation Completes Acquisition of Fenner Fluid Power Division

    MUSKEGON, Mich., March 31 SPX Corporation
today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Fenner Fluid Power
division of Fenner plc of Yorkshire, England.
    SPX's Power Team unit is a market leader in the manufacture of high force
industrial tools and hydraulic power systems components.  The addition of
Fenner Fluid Power's medium pressure hydraulic power system components
provides new technology, complementary products and additional presence in the
international market.  Fenner Fluid Power has facilities in Rockford, Illinois
and Romford, England.
