WASHINGTON, March 31 Lon Offenbacher, Product Line

systems, steering wheels, and cockpit and door modules -- selling throughout
the world. Delphi is the leading supplier of interior systems and the only

"It is an honor for me to lead the Council as our industry faces new
opportunities and complex challenges in producing the world's most technically
advanced automotive occupant restraint systems, focused on saving lives and
reducing injuries," Offenbacher said.
"Our emphasis at AORC will be to continue to educate government, media and
motorists concerning occupant restraint systems. We will present the
industry's views on legislative and regulatory proposals affecting the
development and proper use of occupant restraint systems," Offenbacher added.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Offenbacher received a bachelor's degree in
chemical engineering from Purdue University and a master's degree in business

In 1987 Offenbacher was sponsored by General Motors as a Congressional
Fellow and served on the House Ways and Means staff.
He is on the board of directors for Simula, Inc., a safety components
company based in Phoenix, Ariz.
