Harsco Corporation Announces Sale of Non-Core Automotive Valve Product LineHARRISBURG, Pa., March 30 Harsco Corporation announced today that it has sold its natural gas vehicle automotive valve product line for approximately $3.7 million to GFI Control Systems Inc., a Kitchener, Ontario-based producer of fuel metering systems and components for natural gas, propane, and hydrogen-powered vehicles. Harsco Gas and Fluid Control Group President Ronald W. Kaplan said that in selling the automotive valve line, the company will focus on its much stronger industrial, commercial, and refrigeration valve lines rather than make the substantial investment necessary to grow its small line of natural gas vehicle valves. The line came to Harsco as part of its acquisition of the Superior Valve Company in October 1998. Harsco Corporation is a $1.7 billion multinational provider of services and products serving strategic worldwide markets from more than 300 locations in over 30 countries.
