Timken Launches Global Rail Web Site

    CANTON, Ohio - The Timken Company has announced the development of a new 
World Wide Web site to feature its rail products and services.  The site, 
located at http://www.timken.com/rail, offers direct and immediate access to 
its Rail Business.

    "This site is another step in our evolution to online business which is
helping to fuel our push for continued profitable growth," said Thomas W.
Strouble - senior vice president - E-business at The Timken Company. "It
combines more than 65 years of railroad bearing knowledge with the technology
of a world-leading bearing manufacturer to offer immediate access to
innovative and valuable solutions to the railroad customer."

    The site offers customers the ability to submit service, engineering and 
technical support questions to the company's rail experts. It also provides 
corporate and product information as well as sales contact information.
