Brunol Named New Director of European Operations for Delphi Steering

    SAGINAW, Mich., March 29 Jean Brunol, 47, has been hired
as Director of European Operations for Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems,
effective March 27, 2000.  In his new position, Brunol will be responsible for
providing strategic direction and implementing Delphi Steering's initiatives
throughout Europe.  Brunol will be a member of the Delphi Saginaw Steering
executive staff, reporting to Paul J. Tosch, president of Delphi Saginaw
Steering Systems and vice president of Delphi Automotive Systems and to Jose
Maria Alapont, president of Delphi Automotive Systems Europe and vice
president of Delphi Automotive Systems.
    Brunol comes to Delphi from SAFT, ALCATEL Battery and Power Systems
Company where he was Chief Executive Officer.  While at SAFT, Brunol
successfully restructured the global company, which has locations in 27
countries.  "Jean's extensive experience in strategically managing global
companies is one of the reasons he will be such a great addition to the Delphi
team," said Tosch.
    Prior to his appointment at SAFT, Brunol worked for Valeo Automotive
Systems, an automotive component supplier.  As vice president at Valeo, Brunol
was able to implement strategic improvements through innovative technology,
quality improvements, globalization and continuous cost reduction.  In
addition, more than 150 new products were introduced under his leadership as
product division director.
    Brunol also has four years experience in air defense systems and
aeronautics working for the Thomson Group, where he became corporate director.
Brunol began his career at the National Scientific Research Center in Paris as
a doctor of physics.
    "Jean's diverse experience in both the automotive supplier business and
aeronautics, as well as his first-hand knowledge of Europe makes him a real
asset for us in this important growth market," said Tosch.
    Brunol has a doctorate degree is physics from the National Scientific
Research Center.  He also has a master's in business administration from CRC
(Institute of Executive Development) and a master's degree in optical sciences
from Orsay University located in the Paris area.
    Brunol, who is fluent in Spanish and English, as well as his native
French, is married with one child and makes his home in Paris, France.
