KleenAir to Test Integrated NOx and Particulate Reduction Technologies

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--March 29--KleenAir Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:KAIR) announced that KleenAir has submitted a funding application to the California Energy Commission under the Carl Moyer Advanced Technology Program for testing an integrated package combining KleenAir's new NOxMaster(TM) NOx Reduction System and the Electrocat(TM) Diesel Particulate Filter under development by AEA Technology plc of the UK.
AEA Technology plc, is a leading innovation business specializing in a variety of advanced technology services and products including environmental technologies. KleenAir is in the business of developing NOx reduction systems for the automotive market, together with appropriate catalytic converters designed to operate effectively with the Company's patented products.
KleenAir has a unique computer controlled ammonia system, the NOxMasterTM, which, when injected into the exhaust stream, interacts with NOx produced during combustion. The result converts environmentally hazardous NOx into harmless nitrogen and water. The company's technology works with gasoline, diesel, CNG and LPG fuels to reduce whatever levels of NOx are generated by the combustion of these fuels. Current EPA and California Air Resources Board attention is focusing on environmental pollution resulting from the use of diesel fuels.
AEA Technology's Electrocat(TM) Diesel Particulate Filter, uses plasma filter regeneration to remove all types of carbonaceous particulates, including ultrafine particles, hydrocarbons and suspected carcinogenic polyaromatic hydrocarbons.
KleenAir believes that successful demonstration of these integrated products will provide a lower cost effective alternative to the two remaining major pollution problems associated with automotive environmental pollution, namely NOx and particulates
