Cooper-Standard Automotive Honored With Minority Sourcing Award

FINDLAY, Ohio--March 28, 2000--COOPER TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY . Cooper-Standard Automotive recently received the coveted Automotive Matchmaking award for minority sourcing from Delphi Automotive Systems. The award was presented at the supplier luncheon during Delphi's 5th annual Automotive Matchmaker Conference in Dayton, Ohio. Deborah Rhynehardt-Pickens, Delphi's Manager of Minority Supplier Development, presented the award to Paul Gilbert, President of the NVH Control Systems Division of Cooper-Standard Automotive.
"We are extremely honored by this award and we appreciate this recognition for our minority sourcing efforts," said Gilbert.
Cooper-Standard Automotive was the only Tier-1 supplier to receive Delphi's Automotive Partnership award at this year's event.
Cooper-Standard achieved this award based on business the company awarded to TAG Manufacturing of Farmington Hills, Michigan, a QS-9000 automotive parts supplier that performs CNC machining of ferrous and non-ferrous metal parts. TAG Manufacturing will supply engine mount castings to Cooper-Standard for the DaimlerChrysler 2002 DR platform. The new business represents substantial new business for TAG Manufacturing.
"TAG has the manufacturing capabilities and expertise to produce the parts we need at a competitive price," said Dave Petrie, Purchasing Agent for the Cooper-Standard Automotive facility in Mitchell, Ontario. Cooper-Standard has worked closely with TAG Manufacturing to help develop the company as an engine mount casting supplier.
"We found it quite challenging and rewarding to work with Dave Petrie and the people at the Mitchell, Ontario plant over the past two years. Their attention to detail and constructive criticism has served to further develop TAG as a supplier. We look forward to continuing to work with Cooper-Standard and especially the personnel at the Mitchell plant," said Agustin Arbulu, President and CEO of TAG.
