Saab Automobile Announces New Marketing OrganizationDan Chasins, President and COO of Saab Cars USA, Inc., To Oversee Market Area Americas NORCROSS, Ga., March 28 Saab Cars USA, Inc. President and COO, Dan Chasins, has been appointed head of Saab Automobile's Market Area Americas in addition to his current responsibility. Chasins succeeds Joel Manby, who, after four successful years of leading Saab Cars USA and Market Area Americas to extensive sales growth, has accepted a senior leadership position in an automotive-related, but non-competing business. Manby also recently held responsibility for Saab's Asia-Pacific region. Dan Chasins, who joined Saab in 1992 as Director of Marketing and later spent four years in Sweden as Vehicle Line Executive, takes over a position that is part of a revised marketing organization launched by Saab Automobile AB. The new organization will bear global responsibility for marketing and sales in all Saab markets. This organization includes the market areas of Europe, the Americas, Asia/Pacific and the Middle East, as well as all wholly- owned subsidiaries, independent importers, and global Brand Management. The objective of the new organization is to effectively implement the global marketing plan that Saab is introducing to all markets, while continuing the globalization of the brand. Mikael Eliasson, Saab Automobile AB's Vice President Sales and Marketing, will be in charge of the new organization, which will be effective April 1, 2000.
