Ford Motor Company Licenses MediaBin to Speed E-Commerce Image Content Initiatives
ATLANTA--March 27, 2000--Ford Adds E-Commerce Infrastructure to Automate Image Production for
Web Sites and Brochures
Ford Motor Company, the world's second-largest vehicle manufacturer and one of the most innovative Internet marketers, announced today it has licensed Iterated Systems' MediaBin(TM) platform to automate brand image production for its many Web sites, brochures, and sales materials. MediaBin will enable the Ford Division of Ford Motor Company to better catalog, access and control their brand images for the Internet and print.
"MediaBin enables Ford to automate the production of brand images for much faster Web and brochure updates, making them immediately available to support faster time-to-market for our Ford Division campaigns," said Jan Klug, marketing communications manager for the Ford Division of Ford Motor Company.
This move further accelerates Ford's e-commerce initiatives by automating the production of critical images that are used by Ford to represent the digital brand across the Web and in printed advertisements. Ford will implement MediaBin as part of its strategy to extend its unified digital branding. By using MediaBin, Ford will have immediate access to the latest images, giving them the ability to produce Web content and brochures with increased market speed and brand uniformity.
Corporate Speed and Brand Uniformity
As companies accelerate their digital branding efforts and build their e-commerce infrastructure, the speed of image production becomes essential. However, control of corporate branding becomes increasingly difficult as images are used on hundreds of Web sites and print ads. With MediaBin, the Ford Division has provided the infrastructure to meet these growing demands while providing the required control over their valuable product images. Image users across the Ford Division will have access to the product images just-in-time for their use in marketing and advertising campaigns.
"Corporations are being crushed by the high volumes of images needed to support e-commerce," said John Bacon, Iterated Systems CEO. "By using MediaBin to produce, manage and distribute the digital images representing their brand lines and product photography, Ford can speed their campaigns and increase their lead in the marketplace."
