Viasystems Group, Inc. Announces Initial Public Offering

    ST. LOUIS--March 24, 2000--Viasystems Group, Inc. today announced its initial public offering of 44,000,000 shares of common stock at $21.00 per share. Viasystems shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "VG."
    Viasystems will use the net proceeds of the offering to fund its $210 million acquisition of the wire harness division of International Wire Group, Inc., to repay a portion of its outstanding indebtedness and for general corporate purposes.
    Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Credit Suisse First Boston and Chase H&Q acted as joint-lead managers for the offering. Banc of America Securities LLC, Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., Deutsche Banc Alex Brown, Goldman, Sachs & Co., Salomon Smith Barney and Wit Soundview acted as co-managers for the offering.
