24 March 2000

DynaMotive announces construction of 10 tonne per day BioOil demonstration plant & completion of conceptual design for 25 tonne per day commercial plant
VANCOUVER, March 23 /CNW-PRN/ - DynaMotive Technologies Corporation
(OTCBB: DYMTF) today announced that it will begin construction of a 10 tonne
per day (tpd) BioOil plant in Vancouver, BC. The Company has also completed
the conceptual design for a 25 tpd commercial demonstration plant,
construction of which will begin later this year. These plants will serve as a
springboard for design and construction of full scale commercial plants to be
built in Canada, Europe, Asia and other international markets. DynaMotive
President and CEO Andrew Kingston, accompanied by Canadian Environment
Minister David Anderson and BC Environment Minister Joan Sawicki, made the
announcement at the GLOBE 2000 international conference and trade fair on
business and the environment held in Vancouver.
DynaMotive expects the new 10 tpd BioOil plant, capable of producing up
to 6,000 litres of BioOil per day, to be commissioned in the 4th Quarter of
2000. Designed and built by DynaMotive's Technology Group, the new plant will
incorporate all the design and operational improvements developed on the
Company's existing pilot plant which has been producing BioOil for more than
1800 hours and has proven the design and reliability of the technology.
DynaMotive also announced completion of conceptual design for a 25 tpd
BioOil plant aimed at early exploitation of DynaMotive's BioOil technology
which will provide a platform for expansion into key markets. This plant will
have the capacity to process up to 25 tpd of forest and agricultural wastes
and produce up to 5 million litres of BioOil per year.
``This is an exciting time for DynaMotive as years of work are
consolidated into the design and construction of larger scale plants,'' said
President and CEO Andrew Kingston. ``The experience gained in operating our 2
tpd pilot plant over the past 18 months is now being applied to our commercial
design program. We believe that the combination of consistently high quality
BioOil, high yield, system reliability, low capital costs and the simplicity
of our design vis-a-vis competing technologies will propel DynaMotive to the
forefront of the BioOil production arena. We are committed to advancing our
competitive position through an aggressive R&D and commercialization program,
and we are actively pursuing strategic relationships with technology and
BioOil users in our core markets.''
Speaking on behalf of the Canadian government, federal Environment
Minister David Anderson said, ``DynaMotive's BioOil technology has the
potential to help meet Canada's Climate Change commitment by contributing to
the reduction of our dependence on non-renewable fossil fuel, increasing our
use of renewable waste materials and significantly reducing greenhouse gas
emissions here in Canada and worldwide. The federal government is pleased to
be a partner in DynaMotive's commercialization program through our investment
from Industry Canada's Technology Partnerships Canada program.''
BC Environment Minister Joan Sawicki said, ``I am personally very pleased
to see DynaMotive's continued progress and investment in BioOil research and
development. DynaMotive is a great example of the kind of `Made-In-BC'
technology company that both complements our Green Economy Initiative and has
tremendous domestic and international market potential.''

DynaMotive Technologies is a world leader in the development of BioOil
clean fuels for power generation in gas turbines, diesel engines and boilers.
BioOil is produced using a patented technology that converts low-value forest
and agricultural wastes into a liquid fuel. Unlike fossil fuels, BioOil is
renewable, clean burning, low in SOx and NOx emissions, greenhouse gas neutral
and can be produced economically from biomass waste materials.
