Federal-Mogul Earns Place in John Deere's Excellence Hall of Fame

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 23 Federal-Mogul Corporation's
Lake City, Minnesota, manufacturing facility has received top
ranking from John Deere's Achieving Excellence Award Program, earning
distinction as a member of John Deere's Achieving Excellence Hall of Fame.
"I am very pleased with the strong performance of the Lake City team,"
said Rick Levin, vice President operations, Powertrain Systems, Americas.
"They have received high ratings in all categories. We look forward to
maintaining a true partnership with John Deere."
Lake City supplies 100 percent of the machined cylinder liner requirements
to John Deere engine plants located in Dubuque, Iowa, and Torreon, Mexico.
The facility also supplies OE Service pistons and liners to several John Deere
locations.
"The Achieving Excellence process strives to develop true alliances
through a supplier evaluation process that promotes communication and
continuous improvement," said Wayne G. Droessler, director, John Deere's
Achieving Excellence Program. "It provides Deere the opportunity to recognize
suppliers for great achievements and improvements. The results are mutually
beneficial with potential business growth for both Deere and its suppliers."
"Only five suppliers from Deere's entire global supply base earned a place
in the Hall of Fame during 1999, and we're extremely pleased to be one of
them," said Plant Manager Ed Fain. "We certainly appreciate the recognition
of our team's performance, as our ultimate goal is continued customer
satisfaction."
