NASCAR WWEST: Woodside Set For Big Weekend

March 23, 2000 (Palmdale, CA) - Sean Woodside has ambitious plans for
this weekend.  The 1999 NASCAR Winston West champion plans to compete
in three divisions this weekend at two different racetracks.  

On Friday night, Woodside will be at Mesa Marin Raceway at the helm of
the #4 REF Motorsports-owned Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring
car, his full-time ride for the 1999 season.  He is also entered in Saturday
night's Late Model event at Irwindale Speedway and in Sunday's NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series Dodge California 250 at Mesa Marin.  

Woodside plans to compete in the Southwest Series event Friday night,
make his qualifying run in the Truck at Mesa Marin Saturday afternoon
while another driver qualifies his Late Model ride, race Saturday night
at Irwindale, then be back at Mesa Marin ready for the Sunday afternoon
Truck race.  

"It's going to be some weekend!" said Woodside of this weekend's events.
 "It's going to be fun to get back and race at my old home track.  It
would be great to win the Southwest Series race this weekend.  That's
the only type of car I haven't won in at Mesa Marin."

Woodside's history of success at Mesa Marin should give him an edge over
the competition in the Southwest Series and Truck events. When the former
Saugus Speedway closed down, Woodside transferred his Late Model effort
to Mesa Marin, and became one of the track's strongest competitors.  He
has won the October Classic Winston West event for the past three years
in a row, and won the Bud Pole Award in that event in 1997 and 1998.

"I think that, with Sean's experience at Mesa Marin, we should be a front
runner in this weekend's event," said team owner Bob Farmer. "Last year,
the REF Motorsports Team finished in the top five for all three Southwest
Series races at Mesa Marin, so Sean should have a good shot at a win."

Bob Farmer, owner of REF Motorsports, owns and operates the No. 4 Stick
Only Transmissions,  Maropulos Racing Engines, Speedway Engineering, Finish
Line Motorsports Pontiac in the Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring
with Sean Woodside as driver.  Woodside won the 1999 NASCAR Winston West
series championship after finishing second in the points standings in
the series in 1997 and 1998.  REF Motorsports finished 6th in the Southwest
Series points standings in 1999 with six top five and seven top ten finishes
during the season.
