Tracks: New Driver signs for 2000 at Irwindale Speedway
22 March 2000
Irwindale, Calif. - - He's the "new shoe" in town, he hails all the way from Charlotte, North Carolina, and he's out to just run circles around the competition. He's "LUG NUT Junior", son of Charlotte Motor Speedway's super-popular Legend Car-driving track mascot "LUG NUT". Irwindale Speedway is very proud to present its very own track mascot for the 2000 season "LUG NUT Jr." Kids of all ages love this wild little guy who has big plans for Irwindale Speedway. He'll be appearing there at each race during the season, driving his very own, very special, convertible Legends Car. "I'm really looking forward to driving at Irwindale Speedway," is what "LUG NUT Jr." would probably say (if mascots could talk). Whether he's on the track or visiting families in the grandstands, "LUG NUT's", hilarious antics will speak louder than any words that he might utter. Irwindale Speedway is located at Live Oak Avenue and the 605 Freeway in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley about 18 miles East of downtown Los Angeles.
