Allied Holdings' Subsidiary Receives Toyota Quality AwardDECATUR, Ga., March 21 Allied Holdings, Inc. today announced that its car-hauling subsidiary, Allied Automotive Group, received the Logistics Excellence Award for Quality Performance from Toyota Motor Company for a third time. Toyota first presented the Quality Award in 1996, and it was won by Allied Automotive Group ("AAG"). AAG also received the award for 1997, and now again for 1999. The Award is based on the rate of damages incurred in the delivery of Toyota vehicles. In 1999, AAG's damage rate was .20 percent Commenting on the Award, Randall E. West, Allied's president and chief operating officer, stated: "We are very pleased that AAG received the Award again this year, and congratulate them for their efforts and attention to quality." Hugh E. Sawyer, President of Allied Automotive Group, said: "Every terminal that hauls Toyota products and every vehicle moved are critical components of the award process, as individual performance is reviewed in an open forum with all the trucking partners of Toyota. It is gratifying to know that all AAG terminals have been aggressive in their approach to quality. We are indeed honored to be the recipient again of this Award, and it is a tribute to AAG's many associates who handle Toyota products."
