Aftermarket Technology Corp. Appoints Distribution Group PresidentWESTMONT, Ill., March 20 Aftermarket Technology Corp. , a leading remanufacturer and distributor of drivetrain products used in automotive repair, today announced the appointment of Frank A. Papa as President of its Distribution Group, effective March 27th. Papa, who will be based in Louisville, joins ATC's Distribution Group with over 25 years of manufacturing and distribution management experience. Most recently, he was Vice President, Worldwide Manufacturing and Distribution for the Mechanics Tools Product Group for Stanley Works. Prior to his experience at Stanley, Papa worked at the Sara Lee Corporation, Kayser Roth Corp., Textron, and General Electric Company, holding management positions in operations, distribution, quality assurance and materials management. Mr. Papa has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Lowell Technological Institute and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts. Papa replaces Scott Dalenberg who held the position of President, Distribution Group on an interim basis since July 1999. Dalenberg will now lead new business development initiatives, reporting to Mike DuBose. In commenting on the Papa appointment, Mike DuBose, Chairman, President and CEO said, "I am pleased to have Frank Papa join the ATC team. He brings the right mix of expertise and experience necessary to continue the Distribution Group's turnaround initiatives." ATC is headquartered in Westmont, Illinois. The Company's principal products include remanufactured transmissions, torque converters and engines, as well as remanufactured and new parts for the repair of automotive drivetrain assemblies. ATC also remanufactures electronic control modules, instrument and display clusters and radios. In addition, the Company provides third-party distribution and material recovery services. The Company's customers include original equipment manufacturers and independent transmission rebuilders, as well as wholesale distributors and retail automotive parts stores. Established in 1994, the Company maintains more than 60 distribution centers throughout the United States and Canada. ATC posted 1999 revenues of $565.0 million.
