    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 20 Lear Corporation
today announced the expansion of its Corporate Relations Department, with the
appointments of Andrea Puchalsky as Director - Corporate Communications, Karen
Stewart-Spica as Director - Technology Communications and Malene Pickles as
Manager - Public Relations for Europe, reporting to Leslie A. Touma, Vice
President - Corporate Relations.

    As Director - Corporate Communications, Puchalsky is responsible for
Lear's communications on corporate issues such as finance, acquisitions, new
business awards, joint ventures, e-commerce and plant operations.
    Puchalsky joins Lear from Bloomberg News in Southfield, Michigan (USA),
where she worked as a business reporter providing extensive coverage of
automotive companies and publicly traded Michigan corporations ranging from
features, corporate focuses and product news to quarterly earnings
announcements, auto shows and trade conferences.  She also held positions with
the Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones & Co., Inc., and African Americans on
Wheels Magazine.
    Puchalsky will complete an Associate's degree in Business Administration
from Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, Michigan (USA), in May 2000.
    In her new position as Director - Technology Communications, Stewart-Spica
is responsible for communications related to Lear's technology, product and
process innovations, as well as Lear's involvement in trade shows and Formula
1 racing.
    Stewart-Spica joined Lear in 1998 as Director - Corporate Communications
from Communication Counselors, Inc., in South Lyon, Michigan (USA), where she
was a senior consultant with the firm's automotive clients.  Prior to that,
she was Director of Public Relations for Mattel, Inc., in Los Angeles,
California (USA), and she has held a number of senior public relations
positions during nearly nine years with Chrysler Corporation and eight years
with the Michigan Credit Union League.
     Stewart-Spica holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Central
Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan (USA).
    As Public Relations - Manager for Europe, Pickles is responsible for media
relations and communications in Europe.  She is based at Lear's European
Headquarters in Sulzbach, Germany.
    Pickles joins Lear from TRW in Koblenz, Germany where she was European
communications manager for the Chassis Systems division, responsible for media
relations as well as undertaking market analyses.  Prior to that, she held
communications and marketing positions with Lucas Varity in Solihull, England
in both the research and development center and electrical and electronic
systems division.
    Pickles earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Spanish and German
from the University of Liverpool in Liverpool, England, and a Ph.D. in
consumer marketing from the Manchester Metropolitan University in Manchester,
England.  She also received a diploma from the Chartered Institute of
Marketing in Berkshire, England.  She speaks several European languages
fluently.
