Delco Remy International, Inc., Names New e-Business Director

    ANDERSON, Ind., March 17 David A. Spoelstra has been
appointed director of electronic business strategies for Delco Remy
International, Inc., .  The newly created position will enable the
corporation to enhance its current e-business initiatives and capitalize on
the expanding global market opportunities which require increasing internet
utilization.
    "Dave's first mission is to integrate our catalog/service database into
our web site," said Delco Remy International CEO, Thomas J. Snyder.  "We have
products designed to fit every vehicle make in North America and Europe ...
more than 500 million cars and trucks.  We want to provide the consumers easy
access to that data when they need replacement parts," noted Snyder.
    Spoelstra most recently served as vice president of technological business
innovations at USA Group in Indianapolis from 1997 to 1999.  As president of
MediaMachine in Indianapolis from 1993 to 1997, he served a diversified
customer base in the development of technology vision initiatives, corporate
web site designs, e-commerce strategies and the management of on-line
marketing and support.  He served as a start-up employee of Truevision, Inc.,
in 1989, expanding the company's services to the include development of the
Truevision TARGA real-time image processor used on the space shuttle.
    Mr. Spoelstra's related professional experience includes assignments with
Torkelson Associates, AT&T Graphic Software Labs, Graphic Software Systems,
Microcosm, Inc., and  Tektronix.
    A graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in
electrical engineering, Spoelstra currently serves on the board of directors
for the Indianapolis and Central Indiana Technology Partnership and is a
member of the Association of Computing Machinery.  Additionally, he has served
as networking chair for SIGGRAPH, the world's largest computer graphics
conference and chair of the Video Electronic Standards Association Multimedia
Committee.
    Delco Remy International, Inc., headquartered in Anderson, Indiana (USA),
