Collins & Aikman Announces Appointment of Gordon Young To Senior Vice President Finance-Automotive Interior Systems Europe

    TROY, Mich., March 15 Collins & Aikman Corporation
today announced the appointment of Gordon Young to Senior Vice
President, Finance for its European Automotive Interior Systems division
headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany.  In making the announcement, Michael
Weston, President of Collins & Aikman Automotive Interior Systems Europe
stated, "Young's deep automotive purchasing and finance background will be a
strong addition to the Collins & Aikman European management team."
    Young was previously Vice President - Purchasing for Textron Automotive.
He has also served as Vice President and CFO, Collins & Aikman North American
Plastics and he has more than 23 years of finance and purchasing experience in
the automotive industry.
    Young holds a bachelor of business administration degree from Eastern
Michigan University and has attended numerous Harvard University Executive
Development Programs.
