Avis' Club Red Incentive Program Earns Agents Automatic Cash

    GARDEN CITY, N.Y., March 14 Avis Rent A Car, Inc.
announced today the launching of "The New Club Red 2000."  The
Company's popular Club Red is a travel agent incentive program with the theme
this year being: " Book Avis. Get Money!"
    Through December 2000, travel agents earn $5.00 each time they book a
qualifying Avis weekend or weekly rental that includes a Saturday night
overstay.  Agents can either select the cash option and have money directly
deposited into their bank accounts or they can choose to receive American
Express(R) Gift Cheques, which will be mailed directly to them.  American
Express(R) Gift Cheques can be used for purchases anywhere American Express(R)
Travelers Cheques are accepted.  Awards are deposited or distributed
automatically every two months.
    "This is the fifth consecutive year that Avis has conducted a Club Red
incentive program as a way of rewarding travel agents for recommending and
booking Avis," said Daryl Thrasher, Vice President of Travel Industry Sales
and Marketing.  "The New Club Red 2000 is one of the very best benefits we
offer as a way of saying thanks to agents for trying harder on behalf of
Avis."
    To earn these automatic cash rewards, travel agents simply provide their
Club Red Membership Code when making qualifying reservations.  Member's 1999
codes are valid for the 2000 program.  Club Red is open to travel agents
employed by travel agencies in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S.
Virgin Islands.
