Allied Holdings, Inc. Announces Annual Meeting Date

    DECATUR, Ga., March 14 Allied Holdings, Inc.
today announced that its annual meeting of shareholders has been scheduled to
be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2000.  The meeting will take place
at the Conference Center of the Holiday Inn, 130 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur,
Georgia 30030.
    Shareholders of record on March 20, 2000 will receive formal notice of the
annual meeting and proxy materials describing matters on which such
shareholders will be entitled to vote at the annual meeting.
    Allied Holdings, Inc. is the parent of several subsidiaries engaged in
providing logistics, distribution and transportation services to the
automotive industry.  The services of Allied's subsidiaries span the entire
