Federal-Mogul Receives John Deere Supplier Award

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 13 Federal-Mogul Corporation's
Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Powertrain Systems facility has received Key
Supplier Status from John Deere.
    John Deere's award program ranks suppliers based on quality, delivery,
cost management and technical support.  Suppliers must excel in each category
in order to be honored.  Achievement of the award means the facility will be
considered for continued new business and will be eligible to participate in
future John Deere programs.
    "Manitowoc has a long-standing tradition of performance excellence," said
Michael C. Verwilst, senior vice president, Powertrain Systems.  "It is an

    Federal-Mogul Manitowoc supplies piston rings for John Deere engines built
in Dubuque, Iowa; Saran, France; and Torreon, Mexico.  The facility
manufactures piston rings for heavy-duty and automotive sectors and is the
largest producer of piston rings in North America.
