AdvantEDGE Wins Major Government Contract; Wireless Technology Beats All Other Competitors

    CONCORD, Ontario--March 13, 2000--(CDNX:AII.)

AdvantEDGE International Inc. (CDNX:AII) ("AdvantEDGE") today announced that its wholly owned Mexican subsidiary, AdvantEDGE Products and Solutions (Mexico) SA de CV, has been awarded an exclusive contract to supply the Company's FuelMaster wireless RFID system to the Government of Mexico City (the "Government").
According to the contract, AdvantEDGE will be the exclusive supplier to over 17,312 Government vehicles until December 31, 2001. AdvantEDGE's service fees will be approximately US$8.00 per vehicle per month.
According to David Shneer, CEO of AdvantEDGE "This is an exceptionally good day for the Company and its shareholders as this contract will provide substantial revenues. This is the big breakthrough all employees have been working for and all shareholders have been waiting for."
Under the contract entered into between the parties, the Government is committed to certain minimum and maximum fuel purchases over the two-year contract. Legislation has been passed to ensure those commitments are not effected or amended by any potential change in the governing party of Mexico City.
Under the contract, AdvantEDGE is expected to have all 17,312 vehicles completely installed over the next six months.
Shneer commented "The tender process started with AdvantEDGE competing against many larger and more established companies. It ended when the Government concluded that AdvantEDGE's FuelMaster wireless RFID system and technical support team were deemed the most qualified and dependable. It is especially rewarding to have competed against and surpassed so many other companies. We now intend to use this contract as our most important sales tool in seeking additional fleet customers. We believe that as a result of winning this tender, that additional customers with even higher margins, should follow shortly."
Shneer added "This contract, for one of the largest fleets in Mexico, places AdvantEDGE clearly in the lead position to capture a sizable portion of the lucrative Mexican fleet market, which totals over 5 million vehicles."
According to Shneer "An additional, important benefit of this contact is that AdvantEDGE will now have an excellent network of gas stations in Mexico City. These stations will make it easier for the Company to secure additional non-Government fleets. Up until now, not having a network of sites has been one of the greatest obstacles in securing fleet customers."
AdvantEDGE markets and distributes the FuelMaster System, a fully automated vehicle refueling control and monitoring system. FuelMaster is a high-technology Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) wireless communications system utilizing advanced radio frequency and smart-card microprocessor technology to control the refueling process. FuelMaster applications include those for commercial fleet operators and the consumer market where "automated refueling systems" provide value added benefits such as convenience, elimination of unauthorized or fraudulent charges, transaction security, and daily reports. FuelMaster's automated process eliminates drivers' need to carry cash, credit cards, or vouchers. FuelMaster systems are utilized by major oil companies and financial institutions as a form of "electronic commerce".
