Apogee Enterprises' Glass Service Business Segment Names New Controller of Glass Services
MINNEAPOLIS--March 13, 2000--Glass Services, a business segment of Apogee Enterprises, Inc., announced today that Steve Schmidt has been named controller of Glass Services, effective immediately.A 20-year veteran in finance and operations, Schmidt most recently was the vice president of finance for Eliance Corporation, an e-commerce start-up. Prior to that, he was controller for Ceridian Employer Services, a $600 million division of Ceridian Corporation of Bloomington, Minn. Schmidt also served in several executive positions at Travelers Express, his last assignment being vice president of dispenser services.
Schmidt will lead the implementation of activity-based costing, a state-of-the-art cost management methodology that will provide Harmon with the financial and activities data necessary to prioritize business opportunities and perform most efficiently.
