NASCAR BGN: Pontiac Racing quotes - Aaron's 312, Atlanta
12 March 2000
BUCKSHOT JONES, NO. 00 CHEEZ-IT PONTIAC GRAND PRIX: (ON HIS INCIDENT) "I was just trying to come up through the field there. Our car was running really good. I got a run coming off of four on the 4 and the 15. I went down there into one and was already past the 15, and somehow we got tangled up together. I think it was just one of those racing deals. It's real unfortunate. Our Pontiac was flying. We got in a little trouble there and had a tire go down before the rain. We were running like 12th and that put us back to 27th. But after the rain delay our car was awesome. You hate for something like that to happen but it was just more of a racing deal." HUT STRICKLIN, NO. 61 IWX PONTIAC GRAND PRIX: "That's not a bad deal. We had a really, really, really fast car there at the end of the race. We had been too tight all day, but that last adjustment we made was awesome. It still wasn't perfect, but man we were a lot better. I'm really tickled. We made a lot of gains all day. The racetrack changed dramatically but we stayed on top of it. We ran the eighth, ninth and tenth place guys down from a half a lap back. We were really good. It feels really good. We really wanted to finish in the top 10. But right now our goal has to be to pile up as many points as we can and this was a good weekend for us."
