ISO 14001 certification recognizes Glacier Vandervell's support of environmental protection and the prevention of pollution, along with ongoing compliance with all North American environmental laws and regulations. (Photo: Newscom: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990903/DANA ) To achieve the ISO 14001 certification, Glacier Vandervell utilized an Environmental Management System (EMS), which helped determine the effectiveness of procedures and conformance to environmental policy. The EMS employed management reviews, recycling programs, employee training and awareness programs, and a communication campaign to ensure the success of the environmental program. "We are pleased that our entire Glacier Vandervell workforce has been trained and involved in our environmental efforts," said Daniel Moody, vice president of engine products for Dana's Engine Systems Group. "Environmental protection has always been an extremely important issue at Dana, and we are proud to achieve this distinction." Glacier Vandervell's entire environmental system was audited and certified by Smithers Quality Assessments Inc. They are fully accredited by the Registrar Accreditation Board. Glacier Vandervell North America, a division of Dana's Engine Systems Group, specializes in manufacturing half shell bearings for a variety of vehicle manufacturers. Dana Engine Systems Group provides components, modules, and complete systems solutions to engine builders worldwide.
