Delphi Automotive Systems Mexico Certified As 'Clean Industry'

11 March 2000

28 Facilities Receive for the Second Time the Most Prestigious Environmental Award Granted by the Mexican Government

NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico - The Mexican Government renewed the "Industria Limpia"
(Clean Industry) Award to 28 Delphi Automotive Systems facilities, recognizing
the company's efforts to implement the best environmental practices in its
Mexican operations.

During 1999, 28 of the corporation's 51 plants in Mexico were audited to
renew the Industria Limpia certification. Delphi's operations worldwide are
subject to regular environmental audits to ensure they comply with the
strictest local and international regulations.

Since 1994, Delphi has participated in the voluntary Industria Limpia
certification, renewable every 2 years, as a signal of its corporate
commitment to protect human health, natural resources and the global
environment.

"The ecological commitment of Delphi Automotive Systems in every part of
the world is focused to fulfill the highest standards of environmental
preservation and care in all of its plants," said A. Lee Crawford, executive
director of Delphi Automotive Systems in Mexico and Central America. "We are
very proud of being once again recognized by the Mexican Government for the
environmental actions we take in Mexico.

"This award will continue motivating Delphi team members in Mexico to turn
environmental preservation into a lifestyle in their jobs and in their
communities," Crawford said.

Daniel Rosales, director of Delphi Packard Electric Systems Mexico East
Operations, said that this recognition is very important because it confirms
Delphi's pioneer role in voluntary environmental certifications within the
automotive industry.

Delphi Automotive Systems, headquartered in Troy, Mich., USA, is a world
leader in transportation and mobile electronics components and systems
