Sverdrup Enters Into Operations Support Agreement with Delphi

Jacobs Subsidiary Sverdrup Technology Enters Into Operations Support Agreement with Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems

    TULLAHOMA, Tenn., March 9 Jacobs Engineering Group Inc.
announced that its subsidiary Sverdrup Technology, Inc. has entered into a
preliminary agreement to provide operations support at several of Delphi
Harrison Thermal Systems' facilities in North America.  The effort will
involve test operations of climatic wind tunnels and component test
laboratories at Delphi Harrison's Western New York facilities and a technical
center in Juarez, Mexico.  At these facilities, Sverdrup will employ a
combined workforce consisting of more than 200 personnel.
    "Delphi is the world's largest supplier of automotive components, and
these test facilities are critical to the development of their products," says
Gary Walker, vice president of Sverdrup Technology.  "As a relationship-based
company, Sverdrup is excited to have this opportunity to further develop our
partnership with Delphi and support them in enhancing operations at their
facilities."
    Sverdrup's Automotive Operations Segment, headquartered in Novi, Michigan,
will be responsible for managing this effort.  The Automotive Operations
Segment is a division of Sverdrup's design/build/operate organization, the
Technology Group.  In addition to Delphi, the Automotive Operations Segment
supports other automotive clients such as Ford Motor Company, which recently
awarded Sverdrup asset management responsibility for various test assets at
the Dearborn Proving Ground (DPG) in Dearborn, Michigan.
    Joel Beckmann has been appointed Operations Manager for the new Delphi
operation.  Beckmann previously served as Senior Engineering Specialist in the
Technology Group, with responsibility for developing new business
opportunities in automotive testing, operations, and metrology.  He brings to
Delphi more than 25 years of experience in laboratory operations.
