Aftermarket Technology Corp. Awarded New Ford Business

    WESTMONT, Ill., March 8 Aftermarket Technology Corp.
, a leading remanufacturer and distributor of drivetrain
products used in automotive repair, today announced that it was recently
selected by Ford Motor Company's Customer Service Division as the supplier of
remanufactured FN(4F27E) transaxles and for a new line of Motorcraft-branded
remanufactured transmissions.
    The FN(4F27E) is an all-new transaxle used in the recently introduced Ford
Focus, which is a global platform for Ford.  ATC's Autocraft Industries
subsidiary, located in Oklahoma City, will remanufacture these transaxles for
use during the new vehicle warranty and extended service plan warranty periods
and for retail service replacements.  Autocraft Industries is expected to
launch the remanufacturing of the FN model during the third quarter of this
year.
    Autocraft Industries will also begin remanufacturing Ford's first
Motorcraft-branded line of transmissions.  Previously, these transmissions
were supplied under Ford Authorized Remanufactured branding.  Autocraft will
launch the Motorcraft remanufactured transmission program later this year.
    In commenting on the new business, Mike DuBose, ATC's Chairman, President
and CEO said, "With these new business wins, we are further strengthening our
strategic partnership with Ford.   We are currently working to ready our
Oklahoma facility for the timely launch of both lines of business and welcome
the opportunity to expand our base of business with an industry leader such as
Ford."
    ATC is headquartered in Westmont, Ill.  The Company's principal products
include remanufactured transmissions, torque converters and engines, as well
as remanufactured and new parts for the repair of automotive drivetrain
assemblies.  ATC also remanufactures electronic control modules, instrument
and display clusters and radios.  In addition, the Company provides third
party distribution and material recovery services.

independent transmission rebuilders, as well as wholesale distributors and
retail automotive parts stores.  Established in 1994, the Company maintains
more than 60 distribution centers throughout the United States and Canada.
