Honeywell Honored for Commitment to France
5th Annual 'Invest in France Automotive Award'
Presented at SAE World Congress 2000

TORRANCE, Calif., March 7 Honeywell said that
its Turbocharging Systems business enterprise received the prestigious "Invest
in France Automotive Award" today at the awards ceremony of the Society of
Automotive Engineers (SAE) World Congress 2000 in Detroit, Michigan.
"For the past twenty years, Turbocharging Systems' operations in France
have been a key source of innovation, productivity and growth for the
business," said Jeff Sinclair, President of Honeywell Turbocharging Systems.
"This award has even more significance since it coincides with two recent
major milestones at our Thaon Les Vosges, France facility -- 20 years of
serving customers and ten million turbochargers produced."
Honeywell Turbocharging Systems was one of just three North American
automotive suppliers to be honored with the award, which is given to companies
that are serving as economic influencers in France. The award is being
presented by the Invest in France Agency, which serves as the French
government agency for foreign investment.
"We are honored to receive this award and will continue to create a strong
presence in France for many years to come," added Sinclair.
Honeywell Turbocharging Systems has been active in the French automotive
market since 1979, when the company first opened its turbocharger
manufacturing plant in Thaon Les Vosges under the Garrett(R) brand name with
just eight employees. Two decades later, Turbocharging Systems has
1,200 employees and produces more than two million turbochargers a year from
that facility. In addition, Turbocharging Systems' European headquarters are
currently based in Paris.
The Award trophy is a limited edition crystal automobile designed and
fabricated by the world-renowned glasswork manufacturer Compangie Francaise
du Cristal Daum, established in Lorraine in 1878.
