Andersen Consulting Daily Commentary from SAE Expo in Detroit

Andersen Consulting Daily Commentary from SAE Expo in DetroitDETROIT, March 7 Randy Barba, Andersen Consulting, comments on the overall picture of this year's SAE Expo: "The trend this year is clearly the integration of consumer electronics and information services into the car. Intel, Microsoft and others -- which weren't even part of this show just three years ago -- have some of the most interesting technological offerings on the show floor. What hasn't been said is where and when these technologies will find their way into the everyday car. Some say the point on the cost curve for widespread acceptability is under $1,000 per car, but I'd say it's even lower than that..."
