RDO Equipment Announces Senior Management Appointment
FARGO, N.D.--March 7, 2000--Steve Decker Named Senior Vice President - Southwest Construction
RDO Equipment Co. today announced the appointment of Stephen R. Decker as Senior Vice President of its Southwest Construction Equipment Division. Decker replaces Larry E. Scott who is beginning his retirement transition.
"Larry has been an integral part of the RDO team for over 28 years during which he has guided us through enormous change and growth," said Ronald D. Offutt, founder and Chairman of the Company. "We are pleased that he is staying on as Senior Vice President to support us on special projects requiring his expertise and leadership."
In his new position, Decker is responsible for the Company's construction equipment operations in Arizona and southern California. These operations include John Deere dealership stores located in Flagstaff, Phoenix, Prescott, Riverside, San Diego and Tucson.
In commenting on the appointment of Decker to succeed Scott, Gary L. Weihs, Chief Operating Officer of the Company, observed, "Steve has been responsible for many successful marketing initiatives since joining the Company. We believe he is a very talented equipment professional, and the Company will benefit greatly from his creative abilities and his knowledge of the construction equipment industry."
Decker graduated from the University of Illinois in 1990 with a BS degree in agricultural economics. Following graduation, he started his career with John Deere Construction Equipment Co. and held a number of positions including Market Representative - Product Support, Parts Support Specialist, Area Manager Product Support, Territory Manager and Manager - Commercial Operations. Decker joined RDO Equipment Co. in January 1998 as Marketing Manager for its South Central Construction Equipment Division. In November 1998, he was promoted to Vice President - Marketing.
