Valeo Sets the Pace in Comfort TechnologySoft Diffusion Allows Room for Additional Electronics Equipment AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 7 Providing passenger comfort and meeting the future needs of vehicle manufacturers by creating additional space for electronics, Valeo unveils its breakthrough Soft Diffusion Dashboard at this year's SAE 2000 World Congress. A marriage of necessity and convenience, this thermal control system is designed to reduce the amount of space current climate control architectures occupy, while increasing passenger comfort via the steady dispersal of warm or cold air through nearly invisible vents in a vehicle's dashboard. "This revolutionary thermal technology provides far better temperature homogeneity, increased architectural opportunities and more style flexibility," commented Valeo Group Vice President of Research and Development Martin Haub. "We are delighted because this translates into more free space on the central console and additional room for interior storage. It also enables a simplified assembly process and reduced number of parts." This year's SAE World Congress will feature a full product line of Valeo comfort technologies. A BMW 5 Series will display bend lighting and LED rear lamps, keyless entry, an advanced wiper system, friction materials that improve cabin air quality and a host of other automotive electronics.
