DynaMotive Announces Successful Results of BioOil Fuel Performance Tests Completed by Orenda AerospaceVANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 7 DynaMotive Technologies Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: DYMTF) today announced that Orenda Aerospace Corporation has completed initial BioOil fuel combustion tests with very positive results. "Orenda's tests demonstrate that our BioOil can both effectively power a gas turbine engine and simultaneously reduce air emissions compared to traditional fossil fuels," said Keith Morris, DynaMotive's Chief Technology Officer and Vice President Engineering. "This is significant validation of the commercial use of DynaMotive's BioOil as a low emission, alternative fuel. We are particularly pleased that the BioOil used in the tests was provided directly from our plant without any additional upgrading or refining." The tests were conducted at gas turbine manufacturer SPE Mashproekt's facilities in the Ukraine. Utilizing Mashproekt's GT2500 engine Orenda has developed a compact, dependable industrial gas turbine power generation package that is an ideal choice for efficient, small-scale power requirements. The objective of the combustion tests was to validate fuel performance characteristics of DynaMotive's BioOil. Commenting on the test results, Orenda spokesperson Dr. Raj Thamburaj said, "We are pleased with the results of this first round of combustion tests. DynaMotive's BioOil fuel exhibited good combustion qualities and a very favourable emission profile (greatly reduced NOx and no SOx). This positive outcome sets the stage for Orenda to take the next step of full-scale engine testing to validate long-term commercial operation on such fuels." DynaMotive and Orenda Aerospace signed a Cooperation Agreement in October 1999 to test DynaMotive's BioOil as a clean fuel to generate "green" power in their gas turbines. Orenda is the first company in the world to successfully demonstrate the feasibility of a turbine power generation system for industry that is capable of operating on liquid BioOil, a renewable fuel produced from forest and agricultural waste. Once the test program is completed, Orenda and DynaMotive plan to market BioOil-fuelled, "green" power packages to the worldwide power generation market. Orenda Aerospace Corporation of Mississauga, Ontario is a division of Magellan Aerospace Corporation (Toronto: MAL) and is a recognized leader in the aerospace industry. Orenda has an established reputation in power and propulsion technologies, with core competencies in gas turbine engine repair and overhaul, component manufacturing for turbine OEMs, reciprocating power plants, industrial power packages and advanced energy systems. DynaMotive Technologies Corporation is a world leader in the development of BioOil clean fuels for "green" power generation. BioOil is produced using a unique waste-to-energy technology trade named BioTherm(TM) that converts low-value forest and agricultural waste into a liquid biofuel. BioOil is renewable, clean burning, greenhouse gas neutral and can be produced economically from waste products. DynaMotive recently purchased the worldwide patent rights to the BioTherm(TM) production technology from Resource Transforms International Ltd. (RTI). The Company currently produces BioOil at its pilot plant in Vancouver to meet demand for testing programs by engine manufacturers in Europe and North America.
