Modine Announces Organizational Changes

    RACINE, Wis.--March 7, 2000--David B. Rayburn has become Executive Vice President, Operations, at Modine Manufacturing Company , adding responsibility for the company's European operations to his previous duties as Executive Vice President, Original Equipment.
    Rayburn joined Modine in 1991 as Vice President and General Manager of the Heavy Duty and Industrial Division. In November 1993, he was named Vice President and General Manager of Modine's Automotive Division. He became Group Vice President, Highway Products, in October 1994.
    Prior to joining Modine, Rayburn was Director of Manufacturing for the Off-Highway Product and Drive Line Division of the Automotive Operations Group of Rockwell International. Since 1970, he served in a variety of plant and division management functions there.
    Born on May 24, 1948, in Gallipolis, Ohio, Rayburn received his B.S. degree in industrial engineering from Penn State University in 1970. He earned his M.B.A. in management from Xavier University in 1979.
    Rayburn is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, is on the board of directors for the Racine Area United Way, and the board of directors of the Manufacturers Association of Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce.

    Other organizational changes under Rayburn include:

- Charles R. Katzfey has been promoted to Group Vice President. He will have overall responsibility for the Truck Division, Heavy Duty & Industrial Division, Engine Products Group, and Radiadores Visconde, a joint venture in Brazil. Katzfey has been with Modine for 13 years in both sales and general management roles, most recently as General Manager of the Truck Division.
- Klaus Feldmann has been promoted to Group Vice President, responsible for Modine's European operations. He replaces L. Dean Howard, who will be retiring March 31 after more than 30 years of service to Modine. Feldmann has been with Modine for three years, most recently as Managing Director of the Heavy Duty Business Unit in Europe. Prior to Modine, he spent 15 years with Daimler Benz.
- Ernest T. Thomas, Group Vice President, will now be responsible for the Automotive, Modine Climate Systems, and Commercial HVAC&R Divisions. Previously, he was in charge of Modine's OEM (original equipment manufacturer) highway products businesses.
- Barney A. Barber has been promoted to the position of General Manager of the Truck Division, replacing Katzfey. Barber has been with Modine for over 20 years in both plant and divisional management positions, most recently as Operations Manager for the Truck Division.
- Johannes Kuron has been promoted to Managing Director, Heavy Duty Business Unit, in Europe, replacing Feldmann. He has been with Modine Europe for three years, most recently as Operations Manger for the Heavy Duty Group.
- Thomas Sich has been promoted to Managing Director, European Finance and Administration. He has been with Modine Europe for more than six years, most recently as European Operations Director of Finance.
